N-O to the P-J's
There is nothing like curling up on the couch or in a warm bed with your pajamas on, but that is exactly their purpose. PJ's are NOT meant to be worn in public. It's safe to say that if there is a whole separate section of a retail store devoted to an item of clothing, the public eye is not meant to see the item unless under special occasions. For example: pajamas. Why on earth would one think that it is acceptable to wear one's pajamas in public? Why would the administration find it less "trashy" for a student to be wearing worn out pajama pants to school as opposed to a pair of jeans with a dime sized hole above the knee? Why on Earth would you not question yourself before being seen in public in pajama pants? I am absolutely dumbfounded by these questions. I realize that some people are extremely lazy when they get up in the mornings and have no desire to attend school what-so-ever, but there is no instance where that should provoke one to wear their pajamas UNLESS it is pajama day. IN THAT CASE.....I would at least wear pajama pants that did not look like they've been worn for the past 18 days straight. Okay, okay, maybe the person could not afford anything else. In that case I would find it acceptable for them to wear sweat pants to school that did not appear as if they had been worn several consecutive days straight. When that special day comes around, that I'll have to admit I look forward to, the day deemed "pajama day", I would not advise pulling your pajamas out of the bottom of the dirty clothes hamper. Let's face it, everyone looks at everyone else's pajamas to see who has the cutest ones. Even if you don't care about what you look like or what other people think of you, this matter is about having a little respect for yourself. So, remember to ask yourself "What am I thinking?" before you walk out the door in those piggy pajama pants you love so much.
