What's That In Your Hair?

Probably one of my biggest pet peeves is guys with way too much gel in their hair. Sorry to all the guidos out there, but that much greese is not attractive. Girls would rather your hair be al-natural, we want to be able to run our fingers through it. When all that gel is in it there is no way that we can put our hands in there without coming out with a pound of greese on our hands, and you with pulled, messy hair. There is gel out there that doesn't cause your hair to look like you just hopped out of the shower. Don't get me wrong, the old David Beckham style is hot, we like it, but we don't like the aftermath. Drop the greese and pick up some legitimate gel that doesn't leave your hair in shambles. Oh, and if you have the guido abs and the sexy tan, we don't really mind that either. ;)

Over Exposure

Have you ever noticed that some people find it necessary to expose themselves at inappropriate times? I have. Why do people find it necessary to have their cleavage hanging out when it is totally not appropriate? I really don't know. When you're in public people don't want to see all that you have to offer. If you're on a date, you offer more than you should on a first date whenever you wear something that's too low cut. The guy feels no sense that he has to fight what he's working for. You should wear something that only shows enough to tease him, that way he'll want to ask you on another date. Plus, when your on a date in public the guy that you're with isn't the only person that sees you. Think about it this way - if a prospective boss sees you for the first time in public while considering whether or not to hire you and you have half of your body hanging out for your date, it's not likely that you will be hired. It's important to constantly think about your appearance, because even though appearance isn't everything it has a lot to do with people's impressions about you. If you present yourself in a polite and professional manner in public, your date will have more respect for you, and likely adore you even more.

The Sun Is Shinin'

With all the recent uproar about the dangers of the sun, people are trying to keep their skin healthy and fair. But there are some people that are an exception who find it necessary to tan their skin in the tanning bed and then hop into the spray tan and get the oompa loompa look. This is absolutely not attractive. They make themselves seem way too high maintenance. I understand that they want their legs to look tan so they don't look completely atrocious in shorts or capris, but some people take it way too far. There are some people who absolutely do not need to tan their fair skin. There are an exceptional number of blondes who tan their skin that don't need to be tanned. Most blondes, especially those with blue eyes don't need to go to the tanning bed because they look more natural and beatiful if they leave their skin fair. Girls with freckles don't need to tan because it's obvious they have fair skin and they look fine when they stay their natural color. I don't know if it's true that the tanning bed or the sun causes cancer or if people are just more apt to get skin cancer by heredity, whether they expose themselves too often and too extreme to the sun or not. Honestly...do you think this looks attractive....?

Gettin' Strappy

When spring and summer come around it's time for tank tops and sun tans. It's tricky to find the right bra to go with the season's latest trendy, strappy tops. My latest endeavor occurred when I was trying to find the right bra to go with an adorable one-shouldered top I got from TJ Maxx. A strapless bra wouldn't work because it didn't flaunt me as much as I was hoping it would. I had seen a girl wear a normal bra with a one shoulder shirt and pull one of the straps down into her top, but that just didn't look right either. I asked my mom what to do and she suggested a bra with clear straps so that the one exposed wouldn't be as noticeable, but I just don't know how I feel about that. I feel as if that would be tacky, clear plastic sticking out of my shirt. I've seen girls do it and I didn't take that much notice, but for the most part it was also dark in the room or outside. The top I wanted to wear would be worn during the day most likely, or in a well lit room. This is a problem I just don't have the answer for yet, and I don't want to be the one being asked, "What were you thinking?"

Spring Is In the Air

The air is warm and the sun is shining, and people are beginning to wear open toed shoes. Not such a big deal. Right? Well, that is partially right because Spring shoes are so much cuter than nasty winter shoes but in the spring, toes come out. All kinds of toes: fat toes, long toes, hairy toes, and most atrocious: poorly painted/unpainted toe nails. Even though some people may not think that anyone will pay attention to their disgusting toenails, this is not the case, because I pay attention. One can buy a manicure set for five dollars or less at their local Wal Mart, Target, or Dollar General, so why not do it? Painting ones toe nails only takes about fifteen minutes, and it's not that much of a burden. There really is not an excuse not to paint ones toe nails because unlike the fingernails you don't have to alternate hands in order to get the other side that doesn't accompany the hand that you naturally use. Also, if one is financially capable then it is beneficial to start spring out right and get a pedicure. The average pedicure costs about twenty dollars if it is done professionally. Getting a professional pedicure is satisfactory because, on average, it lasts longer than if one does it themselves. One does not have to pay extra for the professional polish that is used. The average professional pedicure lasts anywhere from two to three weeks depending on the care that is taken. I personally believe that spending twenty dollars every three weeks for decent looking toe nails is just plain common sense.
